Govt. Polytechnic College (Mohali) was established by the Punjab Govt in the year 1996.

Moreover, it is also our constant effort to soak up all the qualities of the head and heart in our aspiring scholars. Stress is not only put on the development of soft and other management skills to help them quickly climb the ladder of success in the corporate world, but the focus is also on inculcation of moral and social values in order to make them useful members of society.

Establishment Profile:

To meet the growing demand for competent technocrats from the global industrial sector, the Government Polytechnic College, Khunimajra (Mohali) was established by the Punjab government in 1996 as a co-education institute. Initially, two diploma courses were started in the same year in the two important components of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering with a contribution of 40 students in each trade. Later, not only did two new courses in communication electronics and engineering and computer engineering begin in college in July 2004, but the contribution of students was also increased from forty to sixty in each class. A new course, medical Lab Technology, has been proposed to be launched from the 2010 session. The college, with its campus spread over an area of about 17 acres, is located about 2 km from the Kharar bus stand on the Kharar-Banur Road. Located in the vicinity of Mohali, the college has become recognized as a leading co-educational institution of technical education. In addition to meeting the requirements of the Mohali-Chandigarh-Panchkula tri-city, students from all over Punjab and neighbouring states are trying to apply for admission to this college.

Method for admition:

Access to the various engineering streams/technologies for the three year Diploma programme is conducted through a central consultancy conducted by the Punjab State Board of Technical Education-Industrial Training, Chandigarh.
